Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Teams Turned Back by Weather

The Four Day Summit Climb June 14 - 17 Teams were turned back by poor weather this morning. RMI Guide Brent Okita reported that the teams climbed to 11,000' feet before high winds, snow and poor visibility forced them to retreat to Camp Muir. The teams will descend to Paradise and then Rainier BaseCamp later this morning.

Mt. Rainier: June 16th Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb team led by RMI Guides Steve Gately and Jordan Cargill reached the Summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Steve reported clear skies, light winds and very cold temperatures with some thunderheads building in the east. The team will spend some time on the summit before heading back to Camp Muir. Congratulations to Today's Teams!

The Four Day Summit Climb teams led by RMI Guide Mike Walter and Ben Liken reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Mike reported clear skies and calm winds. The team will spend some time on the summit celebrating and enjoying the views before starting their descent. Congratulations to today's Teams!

Mt. Rainier: Dale & Team Summit Via the Kautz Route

At 12:36 pm RMI Guide Christina Dale radioed from the Mt. Rainier summit. Her team reached the summit via the Kautz Glacier during their six-day seminar. The team will check in from their high camp and descend the rest of the way off the mountain tomorrow.

On a calm and cold morning, RMI Guides Eric Frank and Andy Bond led their teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier. They are above the clouds enjoying the sun on their descent. Congratulations to today's summit climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Team on Summit!

RMI Guide Zeb Blais checked in from the summit of Mt. Rainier today. Zeb and the Expedition Skills Seminar ascended via the Emmons Glacier from Camp Schurman this morning. The team started their program with two days of training in Ashford and Paradise before departing early Sunday morning for the White River Trail head. After two nights on the mountain, expedition style camping and mountaineering training the team made their summit attempt this morning. They will return to Camp Schurman this afterrnoon and spend a final night on the mountain. Tomorrow they will break camp and return to the trail head. Congratulations to the team!

The Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Chris Ebeling reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Brent reported clear skies and light winds of about 20 mph. The team will descent back to camp Muir for their final night on the mountain. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Summit Climbs Turned Due to Weather

The Five Day Summit Climb June 7 - 11, 2018 made their summit attempt of Mt. Rainier this morning but were turned back at 11,200ft due to poor weather and route conditions. RMI Guides Jenny Konway and Jordan Cargill reported several inches of new snow at Ingraham Flats. The teams returned safely to Camp Muir and will descend to Paradise later this morning.

The Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Christina Dale reached High Break at 13,500' on Mt. Rainier before high winds forced the team to turn. Dave reported very strong winds and clouds above and below the them. The team has started their descent and are en route to Camp Muir.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climbs Reach Summit!

RMI Guides Mike Haugen and Hannah McGowan led today's Four Day Summit Climb to the summit of Mt. Rainier. They reported cold and windy conditions today but not enough to turn them around. They will return to Camp Muir for a quick rest and repack and then will continue down to Paradise. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!
