RMI Guides Eric Frank and Pepper Dee with their Four Day Climb teams reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning a little before 7 AM. Both guides reported no winds and overall perfect conditions. Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Teams Reach the Summit

The Four Day Climb June 20 - 23 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. RMI Guide Brent Okita radioed from Columbia Crest around 6:30 AM PT. The teams had a good climb with nice weather and a bit of wind. Both teams began their descent from the crater rim shortly after 7 AM. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!

Mt. Rainier: RMI Teams on Top!

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams were walking into the crater rim just before 7:00 a.m. The weather is fairly warm with a cloud deck at 6,400'. They will spend some time on top as they cross the crater rim to Columbia Crest before starting their descent.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons Team Summits!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons led by RMI Guide Andy Bond climbed throughout the day yesterday and reached the summit of Mt. Rainier via the Emmons Glacier. Andy and team have spent the week honing their alpine mountaineering techniques including: crevasse rescue, anchors and running belays, route finding, and fixed line travel. It is currently snowing, so the team is breaking down camp and will be descending and making their way off the mountain today. Congratulations team!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Teams Turned Backed by Weather

The Four Day Climb June 17 - 20 was unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning due to high winds and cold temperatures. RMI Guides Eric Frank and Pepper Dee and teams made an alpine start for the summit but turned back at approximately 11,900'. Once back at Camp Muir the teams will continue their descent to Paradise to conclude their trip.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz Summit!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz reached the summit of Mt. Rainier via the Kautz route today. The seminar team has spent this last week on the mountain training on snow and ice climbing techniques as well as crevasse rescue. They have enjoyed lectures from their guides, and demonstrations and practice in the techniques of American mountaineering. They are heading back to their camp where they will spend the night on the glacier before returning to RMI Basecamp tomorrow. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: June 18th Summit!

The Five Day Summit climb led by RMI Guides Walter Hailes and Josh McDowell took advantage of the weather and reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 9:30 am today. Josh reported warm temperature with winds of about 35 mph. The team will descend to Camp Muir where they will spend another day on the mountain and descend to Paradise tomorrow. Congratulations to today's team!

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Climb Team Reaches Summit

RMI Guides Brent Okita & Chase Nelson led their Five Day Climb teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Brent reported a beautiful day on the mountain with clear skies and a light breeze. The team began their descent from the crater rim shortly before 7 AM PT. The team will return to Camp Muir for a brief break and to repack before continuing down to Paradise and concluding their program later this afternoon. Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Van Deventer, Ebeling & Teams Reach the Summit

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams being led by RMI Guides Pete Van Deventer and Chris Ebeling reached the summit this morning. Weather was nice with blue skies and 10-20 mph winds. At 7:30 a.m. both teams began their descent back to Camp Muir. Congratulations RMI teams!

The Four Day Climb Led by RMI Guides Walter Hailes and Josh McDowell reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. The team reported clear skies above the heavy marine layer sitting at 7000'. and very calm winds. Congratulations to today's team!
