Mt. Rainier: Pete Van Deventer & Team Summit!

At 7:50 a.m. RMI Guide Pete Van Deventer radioed from the highest point in Washington, Columbia Crest on Mt. Rainier! It’s a clear day, light winds and a good route. After the the team walked back across the crater, they began their descent at 8:30 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: August 7th Teams Turn at 13,200’

The Four Day Climb led by RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Nikki Champion climbed into a cloud cap with rain and wind, this forced the team turned at 13,200' on Mt. Rainier. Despite turning before the summit due to weather, the sunrise at the top of the cleaver was very rewarding!

The team is back at Camp Muir and will be descending soon.

Mt. Rainier: August 6th Teams Summit!

The Four Day Climbs led by RMI Guides Joe Hoch and Devin Wilkinson climbed above the clouds to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier. Joe reported sunny skies and light winds with a cloud deck at around 9,000' this morning. The Weather was holding and provided the team will good climbing conditions.

Mt. Rainier: Parrinello & Team Turn at 13,500 on Emmons Route

The Emmons Seminar August 1 - 6, 2021 made their summit attempt today after several days of training and climbing on the mountain.  Leaving Camp Schurman the team climbed to 13,500' before deciding to turn back due to difficult route conditions and fatigue. The team returned to Camp Schurman this afternoon and will spend their final night on the mountain.  Tomorrow they will continue their descent to the trailhead near White River Camp Ground and make the return drive to Ashford.

Mt. Rainier: August 5th Team Reaches the Top!

The Four Day Climb led by RMI Guides Mike King and Grayson Swingle reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 5:30 am. The team climbed with light winds, and a hazy sky due the wildland fires burning across the western states. They are currently descending and should be back at Camp Muir soon.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Climb led by Casey Grom Reaches Summit

The Four Day Climb August 1 - 4, led by RMI Guide Casey Grom reached the summit of Mt. Rainier just before 6 am today.  The team reported a beautiful, sunny day with a light breeze.  The team began their descent from the crater rim just after 7 am.  Once back at Camp Muir they will continue down to Paradise and return to Rainier BaseCamp for a little celebration before concluding their adventure.

Mt. Rainier: Kautz Seminar Team Reaches Point Success

RMI Guide Andy Bond and the Kautz Seminar July 30 - 4 August team reached Point Success today!  The second highest of Mt. Rainier's three named summits, Point Success at 14,158'.  The Kautz route was challenging for the team today with large penitentes and route finding, but they reached the summit with all of their team members, 100% success!  The team will return to camp for their final night on the mountain.  Tomorrow they will return to the trailhead and celebrate their week of training and climbing accomplishment.

Way to go team!  Congratulations!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Teams led by Van Deventer & Cifelli Reach Summit

RMI Guides Peter Van Deventer & Dominic Cifelli led their Four Day Climb July 31 - 3 August teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  The groups reached the crater shortly after 6 am and enjoy some time snapping photos and enjoying the views.  Pete reported lights wind and a thicken lenticular cloud just off the summit as they started their descent around 7:30 am.  The teams will return to Camp Muir for a short break before continuing the final 4,500' descent to Paradise.

Mt. Rainier: Hahn, Halliday & Teams Summit!

This morning RMI Guides Dave Hahn and Alex Halliday led their teams to the top of Mt. Rainier!  The weather is cloudy and smoky from some wildfires up north.  The team began their descent from the crater rim at 9:25 a.m.

Congrats! I heard the ladder crossing was out the day before..assuming it has been repaired now? Gaining the cleaver is not too difficult now? Im planning a climb tomorrow.

Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Update

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb, led by RMI Guides Pete Van Deventer and Grayson Swingle, turned at 13,000' due to an impasse on the route.  The team reported light wind and precipitation earlier this morning.  They are currently descending to Camp Muir where they will pack up their remaining gear and continue onto Paradise.
