We enjoyed our last evening in St. Petersburg with an early dinner and a boat cruise through the canals of this beautiful city.
Thanks to our group for a great climb of Mt. Elbrus and a wonderful adventure in Russia.
Until next time,

Hello from St. Petersburg!! Today our team had an incredible tour of some of the beautiful sights of the city. No doubt it is the perfect way to end a great adventure here in Russia. We visited several cathedrals as well as The Hermitage, which holds some of the greatest art pieces in the World! Enjoy the video below but to be honest...it doesn't do it justice. You have to see it for yourself!!
Also stay tuned for Part Two...the team will be taking a boat tour of the gorgeous canal systems that makes St. Petersburg known as "The Venice of The North".

Team Russia has arrived in St. Petersburg! It is so nice and a little sad to leave the mountains behind. However, now in this beautiful city the team is invigorated to enjoy our safe and successful adventure on Mount Elbrus.
We had a long day of traveling to get here so we are just going to soak it in before tomorrow's adventure...what's that you may ask? Check in tomorrow and find out!!

I don't mean to brag, and I don't mean to boast. I do like Russian peanut butter and jam on my breakfast toast! But what else I do like is 100%! Every single climber on the summit of Europe's highest mountain, Mount Elbrus. Hey everyone, this is JJ Justman. We are doing the final little stretch here to get to the tippy top of Mount Elbrus. Team, what do you say? [Team hollers!] These guys are doing great, strong as can be. We just had a beautiful day coming up to the summit. We just have a few more steps to go but it's a done deal. We are going to hang out on top and take some photos. We will touch base with you when we get back down. Am I excited? Heck yeah I'm excited! These guys are really strong and they did a great job today. We'll touch base when we get down. This is JJ and the entire summit team on the summit of Mount Elbrus! Bye bye.

RMI Guide JJ Justman calls from the Mount Elbrus summit
Team Russia is ready! This morning we spent a good part of the day reviewing various mountaineering skills such as ice axe arrest, cramponing and rope travel. Everyone is doing really well and we are all getting excited for our summit day.
Tomorrow is looking good so we are getting ready for an early departure from camp. Stay tuned and with a little luck our next dispatch will be from the highest mountain in Europe!

Here we are! Today Team Russia left town for the ski village of Azau where we jumped on a couple of trams and rode them up to Garabashi Hut at 12,000 feet.
Masha is our Sous Chef at Garabashi Hut and she made a great lunch for us before we strapped on our mountaineering boots and went uphill for a little stroll RMI style! Nice and easy! The team is doing great! We made it to 13,200 feet but we didn't enjoy the sights. It was a rather cloudy and windy day on ol'Elbrus but our spirits are high back at camp.
Stay tuned for more exciting action!

Hello RMI Blog followers,
This is Team Russia coming at you live from the little town of Cheget. And as usual it was a fun adventure just to get here. The team was up early to head to the airport in Moscow where we hopped on our jet that flew us to Mineralnye Vody, known for its abundant mineral springs. But we are not on a spa retreat! We're climbing!
We jumped on our private transfer bus that shuttled us to this quaint little ski town. And upon arrival I was greeted with hugs and smiles from all my friends here that have assisted us over all these years. It's a long day of travel so the team just kicked back and took in the mountain views that we've been desperately waiting for. Finally!! We are in the mountains and the incredible mountain, Mt. Elbrus is a hop, skip and a jump away!
