Mt. Rainier: July 15th Summit!

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb, led by RMI Guide Walter Hailes, reached the summit this morning. Temperatures are warm with some gusty winds. The team began their descent back to Camp Muir and 7:10 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: July 11th Update

RMI Guide Walter Hailes led his team to the Mt. Rainier summit this morning. Topping out at 7:30 a.m., the team enjoyed an hour taking in the views with light winds, sunshine and warm temperatures. The team began their descent at 8:45 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb & Emmons Team on the Summit

We have teams on the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning! RMI Guide Walter Hailes led his Four Day Summit climb to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Walter was approaching the crater rim just before 7 am and reported a beautiful day with light winds. Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Teams Turn at 12,000’ Due to Poor Weather Conditions

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climbs, led by Mike Walter and Walter Hailes, turned around at 12,000 feet due to high winds, low visibility, and snow. The teams began their descent from Camp Muir at 8:45 a.m. We look forward to greeting them in Ashford this afternoon.

RMI Guides Adam Knoff and Walter Hailes led the Four Day Summit Climb team to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The team reached the summit in gusty winds. We look forward to greeting the teams at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon when the finish descending. Congratulations climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar Completes Their Training

The May 15 - 20 Expedition Skills Seminar - Muir teams finished up their training at Camp Muir this morning. With a successful summit climb on Wednesday the teams spent yesterday working on crevasse rescue training. Today they packed up and left Camp Muir shortly before 11 am headed for Paradise. We look forward to seeing them later today. Congratulations to the Seminar Teams!

Mt. Rainier: Muir Seminar Team Reaches Summit!

We made it to the summit! It was a long day involving a lot of new route finding and high winds. The team did great! We are resting and refueling at Camp Muir and will be finishing up the remaining training tomorrow and Friday! RMI Guides Seth Waterfall, Walter Hailes and Team!

Mt. Rainier: Muir Seminar Training at Ingraham Flats

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Muir is enjoying wonderful weather on Mt. Rainier today. The team is spending the day training at Ingraham Flats at 11,200'. Ingraham Flats is a relatively flat section (hence the name) of the Ingraham Glacier that climbing parties often use for a camp when climbing Mt. Rainier. The team will head back to Camp Muir for their second night on the mountain.

Mt. Rainier: Muir Seminar Heads Up

The RMI Expedition Skills Seminar - Muir led by RMI Guides Seth Waterfall and Walter Hailes checked in on their way to Camp Muir today. After climbing through the cloud deck, the team enjoyed blue skies the rest of the way to camp. The seminar teams will spend the rest of the week training at Camp Muir and will make a summit attempt from Camp Muir later in the week.

Mt. Rainier: July 14th Teams Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Walter Hails and the Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Zeb Blais reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams enjoyed warm, sunny skies on the summit before beginning their descent around 7:30 am. We look forward to seeing the teams back in Ashford this afternoon. Congratulations climbers!
