Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Team on the Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb August 2 - 5, 2014 with climbers from Eddie Bauer and led by RMI Guide Solveig Waterfall reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Solveig reported light winds and great weather. As of 7:20 am the team was reaching the top of Disappointment Cleaver on their descent. Congratulations to today's summit climb team!

Mt. Rainier: August 2nd Update

The Mt. Rainier summit climbs, led by Walter Hailes and Solveig Waterfall, reached the summit this morning. They reported 15-20 mph winds and were descending through a light cap over the mountain. The teams began their descent at 7:30 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: Four & Five Day Summit Climbs Reach Summit

The Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Solveig Waterfall and the Four Day Summit Climb led by Seth Waterfall reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams reported clear skies and nice climbing conditions. At around 7 am the teams began their descent to Camp Muir. They will take a short break there before continuing their descent to Paradise. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb teams!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climbs Unable to Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Seth and Solveig Waterfall were unable to reach the summit today due to route conditions. The teams reached 12,700' before deciding to turn back. They will return to Camp Muir for a short break before continuing down to Paradise. We look forward to seeing the teams at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon.

Just after 7 am the teams were approaching the top of Disappointment Cleaver on their descent. They will return to Camp Muir for a short break before continuing to Paradise later today. Mt. Rainier: July 6th Update

Summit! The Mount Rainier Four Day Summit Climb, led by Solveig Waterfall, reached the summit this morning. The weather was very warm and winds were between 15 and 30 mph. The team began their descent from the crater rim just before 7 a.m.

The Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by RMI Guides Seth Waterfall and Solveig Waterfall reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Seth reported clear skies above with moderate winds and cool temperature. There is a cloud deck below at approximately 7,500'. The teams began their descent from the crater rim at 7 am en route to Camp Muir. The teams will continue their descent to Paradise and we look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today. Congratulations to today's teams!

Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Teams on Top!

RMI Guide Peter Whittaker along with Ed Viesturs led a team of eight climbers to the summit of Mt. Rainier today. Peter reported light wind, great climbing conditions and a beautiful day on Mt. Rainier. All eight climbers in the party reached the summit. The Five Day Summit Climb led by Solveig Waterfall also topped out this morning with 100% of her team on the summit as well. Both teams were beginning their descent from the crater rim around 7:20 am. The teams will return to Camp Muir for a short break before descending down to Paradise and then to Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon. Congratulations to today's Summit Climbers!

Mt. Rainier: June 20th SUMMIT!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Mike Soucy was 30 minutes from the crater rim at 7:40 am as reported by Camp Muir. Camp Muir reported calm winds, and clear skies. The team will spend a bit of time on the summit before starting their descent. The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons spent a misty afternoon practicing crevasse rescue and ice climbing skills on the Emmons Glacier near Camp Schurman The spent the evening in camp, having dinner, relaxing, and celebrating an exciting, strenuous and very windy climb to 13,200' yesterday. The team is descending from their camp this morning and will return to Ashford this afternoon around 3:30 pm. Congratulations to Today's Teams!

Mt. Rainier: June 19th Update

RMI Guide Seth Waterfall and the Four Day Summit Climb teams were approaching the crater rim at 7:29 a.m. PT. They reported very cold and very windy conditions on the Disappointment Cleaver Route. The teams will be starting their descent soon after reaching the summit. RMI Guide Solveig Waterfall and the Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons aborted their summit bid at 13,200' due to high winds and blowing snow. They are descending back to Camp Schurman.
