Aconcagua: Nugent & Team Rest Day at Camp 1

Well, we are enjoying a pleasant, if a bit breezy, rest day here at Aconcagua Camp 1. People are passing the time watching movies, playing cribbage, reading, and taking Spanish lessons from Pato, our newest addition to the guide team. Not much else to report, we're hoping to move up to Camp 2 tomorrow where we plan on waiting out the coming weather before making our move to Plaza Cólera (Camp 3) and subsequent summit push. Morale is high and we are all looking forward to being reunited with our best snack food up in the cache at Camp 2. More to come as the story develops, RMI Guide Billy Nugent

Hey Randy (AKA - Mountain Man),

Enjoy your day off.  Hope your climb to Camp 2 goes smoothly and the weather there is not too much of a challenge.

Stay strong and be safe.

Love you,
Dad

Buenos dias querido Randy (Good morning dear Randy) I am sure that you will make your goal. Arrive safe to the top of the mountain. Good for you that you are learning Spanish ( Bueno para ti que estes aprendiendo espanol). Receive all my love and blessing from God,

Hey Rand…Looks like you are in for some bumpy weather. Time to test out all your cold weather conditioning…aka…extra desserts and refusing to wear a coat. Haha. Hope you aren’t missing your cute blue elf slippers I found behind the couch…oops. East coast is get pummeled with blizzard conditions and several feet of snow. Allison is excited because Atlanta is getting some snow tonight. She spent 2 hours playing badminton with the guys last night. She had a blast and was the best one…even without her glasses. It’s another Manning vs Brady playoff this weekend for the Super Bowl. I hope Peyton can pull it off one more time! Best of luck with your move up to Camp 2 and hope you don’t have to hang out there too long. I love you! Stay strong mountain man!

Hey Babe!!
Glad to hear you all are doing well and are getting some good rest- movies, cribbage, and camping sounds like fun times- all things I would enjoy minus the climbing lol!!.  Hoping you arent playing with Charlyns rules, that is no way to make friends lol!!  Hope Jorge is brushing up on his spanish!!

Not much new here just lots of sleepovers and hanging out with the Sinclair clan and the other usual suspects!!  We are having dinner at Rachels tomorrow which will be fun!!

Lots of prayers for safety and that the weather cooperates for a summit push!!!

We miss you!!
XOXO

Hi babe (Doug)!!!

Good for you guys…get all the rest you can!  I’m guessing you and Jake are getting in plenty of cribbage time;). Kids and I miss you!
Bre and I are gonna take the kids to the kids museum tonight after school.  They’re pretty stoked!
