Kilimanjaro: Grom & Team Summit!
As planned we were up early and started climbing just before 1 a.m. The weather was clear, calm and not too chilly. Surprisingly we were one of the last groups out of camp this morning and thankfully had little traffic issues on the ascent. The weather stayed nice all morning and it was just a little breezy on top. After a long 8 hours of climbing uphill we had the entire group on the summit of Kilimanjaro. We only spent about 20 minutes on top before heading back to high camp. Where we spent about an hour eating, drinking, and getting things packed up and have all safely descended down to our last camp of the climb.
Tomorrow is hot showers and clean clothes, then we're off to safari!

Congratulations Maria & Peter! Looks like you got lucky with the weather, and I’m relieved on your behalf that a hot shower is waiting for you. I still don’t understand how you can survive without a blow dryer and Charmin, which is why I enjoy climbing vicariously through you! :D

Congratulations Maria & Peter!! You guys are absolutely bonkers but good on you for doing this amazing journey. As you know only due to me not being able to plug in my hot rollers I couldn’t join you (lol). Keep safe and warm and just think of that amazing deep tissue massage and copious bottles of red wine that await you on your return.
Lots of love,
xxB

That is one of the greatest pictures of all time. Weird that there was snow on the way up, but not on top. Maybe too high for snow? Anyway, you guys totally rock it! (no pun intended)!!!
