Erik Nelson , Mountain Guide, RMI Expeditions

Growing up backpacking in the Cascade Mountains around Mount Rainier nurtured Erik's love for the outdoors. His first experience climbing was a trip to Yosemite where he fell in love with the sport. After returning from international aid work abroad and the Peace Corps in 2008, Erik began turning his outdoor hobbies into professional work climbing and guiding. Now living in Salt Lake City, Erik splits his time between teaching high school history, guiding outdoor trips and climbing in the desert and mountains of Utah. Erik's passion for education has found a balanced place in the classroom and the mountains.
